Touch of a Woman's Hand
hr700

I wrote and recorded this song in 1991. Judy was building a career as a sales representative for a company called "Home Interiors" which specialized in home decorating, flower arrangements, paintings, lighting and anything that would make a house feel like a warm, friendly and inviting family home.

Their emphasis was on how a woman could use her talents and their products to decorate one's home and how important her role is in providing comfort, enjoyment, safety and love to her home and family environment.

I wrote this song to represent those core values of the company.

When I was just a young boy
I knew mama would be there
To comfort me and hold me
As she wiped away my tears
Her gentle touch was all it took
To take away the pain
Then she'd look into my eyes
And leave me smiling once again

You could see it in the smiles of the children
You could feel it when she held you tight
You could see it in her eyes, she loved me
And it's lovin' that feels so right
You could see it in our home, and family
And it's not too hard to understand
The miracle of love, she brought us
With the touch of a woman's hand

We didn't have a lot and it was hard on mom and dad
Always living day to just getting by
Still they always seemed to make the most
Of everything we had
And were thankful for the blessings in our lives
She could take a single rose
And turn our winter into spring
And ease our troubled minds with just a touch
She would decorate our home
With all the joy a family brings
It's no wonder that we loved her so much
The years have come and gone
And mom and dad both passed away
But the lessons that they taught me
Are still here with me today
God blessed me with a woman
And two children of my own
And she touched us with her magic
When she made our house a home

I can see it in the smiles of our children
And I feel it when she holds me tight
I can see it in her eyes, she loves me
And it's lovin' that feels so right
I can see it in our home, and family
And it's not too hard to understand
The miracle of love, she gave me
With the touch of a woman's hand

The way she changed my life forever
With the touch of a woman's hand
