After “Bob & the Beachcombers” completed our “Welcome to Minnesotaville” CD compilation of Jimmy Buffett parodies, I got the idea of using Buffett’s “Last Mango in Paris” as a tribute to some of the iconic statues and tourist attractions throughout Minnesota. Having been a fan of KSTP celebrity Jason Davis and his travels across our great state, I incorporated him into my version of the song, which I entitled “The Ballad of Jason Davis”.
