Isn't it interesting to watch the legacy media, the establishment newspapers, independent journalists, influencers, politicians and the internet build up fear, anger and hostility toward whichever nation the military-industrial complex decides we need to confront next? We've seen how that story goes before:
How did that work out? And these days it's all about “Russia, Russia, Russia.” The drumbeat never stops. Both political parties take their turns warning us, scaring us, or threatening to do something that could put us one bad decision away from nuclear war.
This film shows how we are all living in a house of dynamite — just waiting for someone to light the fuse.
A House of Dynamite — trailer
The film follows the U.S. government in the minutes after a single, unidentified missile is detected heading for an American city, and nobody can say for sure who launched it. It plays out the same short window several times from different seats: the officers watching the screens, the military brass, the White House. What it shows, more frightening than any explosion, is how little time there is to think, and how much rides on people making the right guess under unbearable pressure.
That's the craziness I want people to see. Not because any one country is the villain, but because the whole system is built on the assumption that no one will ever make a mistake.
