The rapid decline in the popularity of disco music left a musical void that could only be filled by a cheap imitation of a popular comedy skit from "Saturday Night Live," which produced some great music and a couple of not-so-hot movies.
Gangbusters brought "The Blues Brothers" to the Twin Cities, featuring Lenny Litchie as "Leonardo DeLitchie" on vocals, harmonica, and briefcase, Bob Burtis as "Bobby Blues" on vocals, special choreography, and bad jokes, and Claire Weiland as "Tina Turner."
The Leaning Post and the Iron Horse sponsored the show, which featured a full four-piece horn section and five dancing cheerleaders. The "blues" would never be the same (and thank God for that!).
