Dome Sweet Dome

Out to the field, under the stars, and through a Minnesota winter

With the help of my Dad, a couple of my brothers, and a tractor and trailer, we managed to move the dome out to a beautiful grassy field surrounded by trees.

And much like the photo I took back at the farmhouse, I was lucky enough to catch another impressive image of sunlight reflecting off one of the clear plastic panels.

I wasn't able to spend a lot of time there that summer, because I was traveling around the state with my band, but I enjoyed several nights under the stars inside my dome home!

Winter

Once winter arrived, I strapped on a pair of snowshoes and hiked out into the woods to see how my geodesic dome was holding up against everything a Minnesota winter could throw at it: bitter cold and heavy snow. True to its efficient design, the dome came through the winter intact, and it made for an interesting hiking destination.
